This course is designed to be a first step in equipping students who feel called to into any area of Christian Ministry such as serving orphans, missions, etc. With exegesis of biblical passages, prayer, and reliance on the Holy Spirit, students are challenged to personally examine motives and confirm their calling. They are guided to discover and write their Bible-based purpose, mission statement, vision, establish core values, develop strategy, set initial goals, write a business plan, select initial board members, choose a name for the ministry and incorporate/register with their state government.

This course goes by a few different names: Starting a Missions Ministry, Starting a Christian Ministry, Starting a Nonprofit, Starting an Orphan Care Ministry
Students will complete assignments with their specific ministry in mind. That's how they get credit for the specific
ministry course. As you go through the course, you will hear us talk about starting an orphanage or staring a non-profit. Every time you hear, us say, "start an orphanage" you may replace it with "Start a Non-profit" or any of the appropriate course names depending on your major.
